Gandhinagar: Seminars and conclaves to chart the road ahead for the electric vehicles (EV), e-commerce, MSME and startup sectors will be held during the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) to be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, said state government officials on Thursday.

A session on the theme of ‘Charging Ahead to 2047’ to explore the various options for growth of the electric manufacturing sector in Gujarat and the country will be held on January 11, said industries commissioner Sandip Sagale. Union government officials and industry representatives will speak at the event.

A seminar on the theme of e-commerce focusing on innovation and digitalization, the role of artificial intelligence (AI), cross-border policy ecosystems, and the future of e-commerce will also be held on the same day. Titled ‘E-Commerce: Business at Fingertips’, it will also focus on the future of e-commerce, global trends and cyber security.

Sessions will deliberate on grassroots dynamics, implementation, and impact of e-commerce, integration of e-commerce, and role of fintech, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, small buyers and sellers. Officials said the seminar aims to enable the stakeholders to benefit from the opportunities that would arise from digitizing the domestic economy, mainstreaming segments of our economy and allowing domestic players in the Indian market to sustain themselves in the digital economy.

Additional industries commissioner Kuldeep Arya said the seminar on ‘Startups: Unlocking the Infinite Potential’, also to be held on the same day, aims to explore the role of startups in fostering innovation and driving economic growth in India.

D Thomas Franco, coordinator of the Environmental Protection Organisations, will chair the seminar. The speakers include Dr J Radhakrishnan, commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, S Janakarajan, a water expert, K Saravanan from Coastal Activities Network, and T Jayaraman, a climate change researcher at MS Swaminathan Research Foundation.
