In order to ensure the security and orderly operation of the G20 Summit held in Delhi, the event dates have been declared as public holidays.

The Delhi G20 Summit will take place on September 9 and 10, 2023, respectively. Banks, financial institutions, and commercial businesses in the New Delhi area will be closed from September 8 through September 10 during this Delhi G20 Summit Event, according to a Delhi government notification released on Thursday, August 24.

Oranisations which will be closed
All Government Departments, Offices, Organizations, Undertakings, Corporations, Boards, Statutory Bodies, Educational Institutions, etc. of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi.

All Private Offices, Educational or other Institutions (by whatsoever name) within National Capital Territory of Delhi.

All commercial banks and financial institutions situated within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District, which come under the purview of the Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 (26 of 1881).

All shops, commercial and business establishments situated within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District.

According to the notification , “Public Holiday on 8th September, 2023 (Friday) in such offices wherein Saturday and Sunday are Public Holidays; followed by Public Holidays on 09th and 10th September, 2023 being Saturday and Sunday. (b) Public Holidays on 8th and 9th September 2023 (Friday and Saturday) in such offices wherein Sunday is a Public Holiday; followed by Public Holiday on 10th September, 2023 being Sunday. and (c) Public Holiday on 10th September, 2023 in those commercial banks and financial institutions wherein Sunday is not a Public Holiday.”

“As per Section 16 (3) (i) of The Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954 all the commercial and business establishments situated within the jurisdiction of New Delhi Police District (as per attached map) shall remain closed from 8th to 10th September 2023,” the notification said.

G20 Summit, New Delhi
The 18th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit, which will take place in New Delhi, will be the culmination of all the G20 procedures and gatherings of ministers, senior officials, and civil society that took place throughout the year. At the conclusion of the New Delhi Summit, a G20 Leaders’ Declaration will be adopted, outlining the commitment of the Leaders to the priorities discussed and chosen during the relevant ministerial and working group meetings.
