NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Thursday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 273.99 points up at 72312.42 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.
On the BSE, Promax Power(down 18.73 per cent), Benara Bearings(down 11.40 per cent), PrismxGlobalVent(down 9.32 per cent), Madhav Infra Proj(down 8.79 per cent) and AksharChem Ltd(down 7.45 per cent) were among the stocks that plunged over 5 per cent during the session.
In the Nifty pack, 37 stocks traded in the green, while 13 stocks traded in the red.
The Nifty index was trading 83.05 points up at 21737.8.
On the BSE, PrismxGlobalVent, Bajel Projects, IFL Enterprises, Akshar Spintex and Sanmit Infra hit their fresh 52-week lows, while HUDCO, Nath Ind., SecMark Consultancy, Cravatex Ltd and Shree Karthik touched their fresh 52-week highs.
