Lucknow: Since coming to power in 2017, the Yogi Adityanath led state government has distributed loans of Rs 6,55,684 crore among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) units. The sector provided employment to 2.5 crore people during the period.
A government spokesperson said that after assuming power, the BJP government had launched initiatives like One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rojgar Yojana, Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarojgar Yojana and Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana among others to boost the MSME sector.
In 2017-18, the government set a target of providing a loans of Rs 31,330 crore to the MSME sector, but distributed Rs 46,594 crore, which was 149% of the target. In 2018-19, against the target of Rs 41,402 crore, the government disbursed loans of Rs 57,809 crore, which was 140% of the target.
Similarly, in 2019-20 the target was Rs 51,809 crore whereas Rs 71,081 crore was distributed finally. In 2020-21, the annual target for loan distribution was set at Rs 61,759 crore. The actual distribution was Rs 73,765 crore.
In 2021-22, against the target of Rs 72,251 crore, loans of Rs 83,067 crore were distributed while in 2022-23, the annual target was set at Rs 78,360 crore against which the government distributed Rs 1,50,032 crore. In the current financial year, a target of Rs 1,00,815 crore has been set. Till December 2023, loans of Rs 1,73,336 crore were distributed.
