The Yogi Adityanath government today presented its eighth budget on Monday, with Finance Minister Suresh Khanna stating that it is an inclusive budget that caters to all. This will be the eighth consecutive budget presented by the BJP government and the fifth consecutive one presented by Finance Minister Suresh Khanna. FM Suresh Khanna presented a record budget of Rs 7.46 for lakh crore for the financial year 2024-25 in the state assembly. The last year’s budget outlay was Rs 6.90 lakh crore. The total outlay for the next fiscal includes new schemes worth Rs 24,863.57 crore, according to the state finance minister.
Here are the key highlights of UP budget 2024:➤ State’s Fiscal deficit at 3.46 percent of state GDP
➤ Out of the total expenditure, Rs 5,32,655.33 crore has been allocated for the revenue account and Rs 2,03,782.38 crore for capital account.
➤ After deducting the total expenditure from the receipts of the consolidated fund, a deficit of Rs 15,103.89 crore is estimated in the budget.
UP Budget 2024 Highlights: Aviation Sector
➤ Rs 1,100 crore for development of airstrips across the state
➤ Aligarh, Azamgarh, Moradabad, Shravasti and Chitrakoot have been developed and the development work of Mayorpur (Sonbhadra) and Sarsawa (Saharanpur) airports is in progress.
➤ ‘Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham’ developed in Ayodhya.
➤ A provision of Rs 150 crore proposed for the establishment and expansion of the Ayodhya airport.
➤ FM said that continuous efforts are being made by the state government to increase air connectivity in the state through the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-‘UDAN’) of the Government of India and “Uttar Pradesh Civil Aviation Promotion Policy”.
➤ In comparison to the last financial year, there has been an increase of 19.2 percent in the number of passengers traveling by air in the current financial year.

Khanna also highlighted that the state is expected to receive around Rs 2,18,816 crore from the Central taxes, according to the interim budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1. In the previous year, the Yogi government had presented a budget of Rs 6.9 lakh crore for 2023-2024, along with a supplementary budget of Rs 28,760.67 crore, which included funding for various development projects in Ayodhya.
