Many Indians keep their bank-related work for Saturdays. In India, banks are closed on the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays of the month. The first, third and five Saturdays of the month are working days for banks. So, bank customers must make sure that banks are working on that particular Saturday before visiting the branch.

Yes, as this Saturday is the second Saturday of May, banks will be closed on May 11.
Though it’s a bank holiday, customers can carry out many financial and non-financial transactions through mobile banking and net banking services.

May Bank holidays 2024

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notifies bank holidays in three categories: the Negotiable Instruments Act Holiday, the Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and bank account closures. All banks in the nation, including public, private, foreign, cooperative, and regional banks, will be closed on the stated holidays.Banks are closed throughout the country on national holidays such as Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), Christmas Day (December 25). On other occasions, bank holidays usually vary from one state to another.
According to the RBI holiday list, banks are closed for 14 days in May 2024. Here is the full list of bank holidays for the remainder of May.

May 13- Lok Sabha General Elections 2024- (Tuesday)- Srinagar
May 16- State Day- (Thursday)- Banks closed in Sikkim.
May 20- Lok Sabha General Elections 2024- (Monday)- Banks closed in Maharashtra.
May 23-Buddha Pournima (Thursday)- Banks are closed in Tripura, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu, Lucknow, Bengal, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar.
