HDFC Bank has informed its customers via email and SMS that all its HDFC Bank debit, credit and prepaid card transactions will be temporarily unavailable during an upgrade window.
“HDFC Bank debit, credit and prepaid card transactions will not be available on June 4, 2024 from 12:30 AM – 2:30 AM and on June 6 from 12:30 AM – 2:30 AM,” stated the HDFC Bank email sent to customers.
HDFC Bank has planned a system upgrade for HDFC Bank debit, credit, and prepaid card services on these below dates.

HDFC Bank products which will not work during the downtime
All debit, credit, prepaid card services will be temporarily unavailable on HDFC Bank’s ATM, POS (Card Swipe Machine at Stores), Online(Payment Gateway portal) and Netsafe transactions.HDFC Bank Rupay Cards will not work for online transactions even on other (non HDFC Bank) Payment Gateways.
What is the new limit for SMS alerts for UPI transactions
HDFC Bank customers will now only receive SMS updates for transactions above Rs 100 (money sent/paid) and Rs 500 (money received).
According to the HDFC Bank mail sent to its customers:
“Starting from 25th June, 2024: Email Alerts: Continue to receive email alerts for all UPI transactions.
SMS Notifications: Now only for transactions above Rs 100 (money sent/paid) and Rs 500 (money received).”
