Kochi-based Federal Bank has reportedly shortlisted three candidates for the post of MD & CEO. The list comprises a combination of internal and external contenders.
This private sector lender has already submitted the names to the Reserve Bank of India.
According to media reports, K.V.S Manian, the former Deputy MD of Kotak Mahindra Bank, is the external candidate in the running.
The two internal candidates are Shalini Warrier and Harsh Dugar, both currently serving as executive directors at Federal Bank.
Last month, Shyam Srinivasan, the current MD and CEO of Federal Bank, disclosed that the lender’s board had established a search panel to assess candidates for the position.

The succession planning began in January when RBI refused a one-year extension for the current MD & CEO, Shyam Srinivasan, whose tenure ends on September 22nd of this year.
Amid speculation about the new MD & CEO appointment, Federal Bank’s stock price surged up to 4.1 per cent at Rs 174.60 per share on the BSE in Wednesday’s intraday deals.
