Vijay Mallya was recently photographed attending the extravagant wedding of his son, Sidhartha Mallya, in the United Kingdom. The now fugitive businessman, embroiled in a high-profile alleged loan fraud case exceeding 900 crores, was seen at the celebration held at his $14 million estate in Hertfordshire, UK. The wedding, which marked the culmination of week-long festivities, was attended by close friends and family members.

Sidhartha Mallya, son of Vijay Mallya and his first wife Samira Tyabjee Mallya, tied the knot with his girlfriend Jasmine in a traditional Christian ceremony on Saturday.

Photos from the event shared on social media captured the opulence of the affair, set against the backdrop of Vijay Mallya’s sprawling estate. Notably, Mallya had acquired this estate from Anthony Hamilton, father of Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton, in 2015, shortly before his departure from India.

Vijay Mallya: From Business Empire to Legal Battles

Vijay Mallya, known for his association with Kingfisher Airlines and facing charges related to money laundering and bank loan default amounting to over Rs 9,000 crore, has been residing in the UK since fleeing India in March 2016.

The groom, Sidhartha Mallya, a multifaceted personality with interests in modeling, acting, and recently, children’s literature, has kept much of his personal life away from the limelight. He hails from Los Angeles, California, and spent his formative years in London and the UAE. His educational journey includes schooling at Wellington College and pursuing higher studies at Queen Mary University of London. Sidhartha’s bride, Jasmine hails from the United States.

Mallya Jr had announced his wedding on Instagram earlier this week. “Wedding week has commenced,” Mallya wrote on Instagram, sharing a picture that shows him posing with his fiancée. In the picture, Jasmine looked lovely in a colourful floral dress. The duo announced their engagement on Halloween last year. Mallya was dressed as a pumpkin in the pictures. Sharing the images on Instagram, he wrote, “Well I guess you’re stuck with me now foreverrrr. I love u my juppet @jassofiaa (thank u for saying yes to this pumpkin) #engaged #love #halloween.”
