SingularityNET (AGIX) has announced a significant $53 million investment aimed at advancing decentralized Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) through the development of a modular supercomputer. This investment is part of SingularityNET’s broader efforts to enhance its decentralized AI ecosystem, according to SingularityNET.
$53M AI Infrastructure Investment to Advance AGI
On July 23, 2024, SingularityNET announced an initial $53 million investment to build the world’s first modular supercomputer dedicated to decentralized AGI and disruptive ASI R&D. The supercomputer will feature state-of-the-art High-Performance Computing (HPC) and AI data centers. It is designed to optimize the training of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), Large Language Models (LLMs), and hybrid neural-symbolic computing architectures such as OpenCog Hyperon.
The supercomputer will manage extensive and heterogeneous computational tasks, enhancing the speed and efficiency of compute processes. Recent hardware acquisitions include advanced GPU compute systems like Nvidia L40S GPUs, AMD Instinct, and Tenstorrent Wormhole server racks. The investment also includes modular compute containers that can be positioned globally, serving as decentralized hubs for broader networks of heterogeneous computing devices.
ASI Alliance Token Merger Update
The ASI Alliance, including SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol, announced the completion of their core token merger process on June 22, 2024. Over 50% of the circulating Alliance token supply has merged under a single token, the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (FET). The alliance will introduce cross-chain bridges and migration solutions to facilitate the transition for holders on blockchains like Cardano and BNB Chain.
SingularityNET’s Technical Tuesdays
SingularityNET continues to explore the development of its decentralized AI platform through its ‘Technical Tuesdays’ series. A special session on July 23, 2024, featured discussions on the $53 million investment in AI infrastructure, highlighting investments in cutting-edge GPUs and CPUs from Nvidia, AMD, and Tenstorrent. The session also covered the establishment of ‘ASI Hyperon’ Nodes, integrating technologies from ASI partners and later stages incorporating HyperCycle and NuNet technologies.
SingularityNET Ecosystem All-Hands on X Spaces
The third edition of the SingularityNET ecosystem all-hands meeting on X Spaces featured updates from projects like SophiaVerse, Cogito, Rejuve.Bio, and Jam Galaxy. Discussions included the launch of the Global AI Ethics initiative and the integration phase of the ASI token merger.
Ambassador Program
The SingularityNET Ambassador Program continues to strengthen the ecosystem’s transparency and decentralization. In July, Ambassadors contributed to the AI Ethics workgroup, held retrospective Town Hall sessions, and initiated monthly Workgroup Syncing calls. Recordings of these meetings are available on YouTube.
