The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday has announced the appointment of Aviral Jain as Executive Director (ED).
His appointment will be effective from October 1, 2024.
Prior to being promoted as ED, Aviral Jain was serving as Regional Director for Maharashtra.
He has experience of over three decades in areas of supervision, currency management, foreign exchange regulation and human resource management.
As Executive Director, Jain will look after: 1. Legal Department, 2. Premises Department and 3. Right to Information Act (First Appellate Authority).
Aviral Jain is a post-graduate in economics. He also holds Certificates in AML / KYC and Capital Markets and is a Certified Associate of IIBF.
Recently, the Union Government has reconstituted the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) by appointing three new external members
Professor Ram Singh, Director of the Delhi School of Economics; economist Saugata Bhattacharya; and Dr. Nagesh Kumar, Director and Chief Executive of the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, will now serve on the MPC.
