Banks in some states will be closed on Friday, i.e., November 15, 2024 on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list.

The Reserve Bank of India publishes regional and national holidays state wise on its website. Note that banks are closed on Sundays, second and fourth Saturday’s of the month.

Guru Nanak Jayanti is on November 15, 2024.

Guru Nanak Gurpurab, also called Guru Nanak Prakash Utsav, commemorates the birth of Guru Nanak, the first Sikh guru.Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism and one of the most recognized and prominent Sikh gurus, is held in high regard by the Sikh community.

Banks in some states are closed on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima in state of Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad – Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar.

Banks are closed in Karnataka on the occasion of Kanakadasa Jayanti.

Banks will be closed during Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan), Kut festival, Kannada Rajyothsava, Balipadyami, Vikram Samvant New Year Day, Chhath (Evening Arghya), Chhath (Morning Arghya)/Wangala Festival, Egaas-Bagwaal, Guru Nanak Jayanti/Karthika Purnima/Rahas Purnima, Kanakadasa Jayanti, Seng Kutsnem, according to the RBI website.
