The Supreme Court on Monday allowed President Donald Trump to remove Rebecca Slaughter as a member of the Federal Trade Commission while the justices consider her case.
The court, in a 6-3 decision to take up the case, said it will weigh Trump’s effort to overturn a 90-year-old precedent protecting members of independent federal agencies from being fired by the president without cause.
