Banks in India are closed on national and public holidays depending on the state. In India banks are closed on Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays of the month, according to the RBI guidelines. While banks will work as usual on first, third and fifth in some cases.

Many individuals keep their banking work to be done on Saturday, and they are not sure if the coming Saturday is a working Saturday or not for banks.

No. It is not a bank holiday this Saturday on February 17, 2024. Banks will work as per their regular timings. While, next Saturday that is February 24 will be a working day for banks.The holidays are categorised into three groups by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). – Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

Banks will be closed in few states on the occasion of Losar, Basanta Panchami/Saraswati Puja (Shree Panchami), Lui-Ngai-Ni, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, State Day/Statehood Day, Nyokum in February 2024.

  • February 19: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti: Banks are closed in Maharashtra.
  • February 20: State Day/Statehood Day: Banks are closed in Mizoram.
  • February 26: Nyokum: Banks are closed in Arunachal Pradesh.
