The Reserve Bank of India plays a crucial role in determining the bank holidays for the entire year in India. This includes all types of banks, such as cooperative, rural, regional, private, and public sector banks. As per the regulations, all banks will be closed on Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and national and regional holidays. However, in the rare occurrence of five Saturdays in a month, banks will be open for business on the fifth Saturday.

On June 29, most places do not observe a bank holiday because it falls on the third Saturday of the month. However, it’s worth noting that an exception to this is the city of Kohima in Nagaland.Banks will be closed due to poll day for Municipal & Town Council Elections in the state of Nagaland.

The central bank designates certain holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

ATMs and internet banking
ATMs will be available throughout these holidays, and internet banking services will remain operational.

Digital banking
Most of the banking transactions including financial and non-financial transactions can be done via net banking, mobile banking, Whatsapp banking. You should make sure that you have registered for these services to avail banking services on the go.

July Bank holidays 2024
Banks will be closed for 12 days in July 2024 across different states, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list. The holidays include regional, national holidays as well as both the second and fourth Saturdays as well as Sundays.

Banks will be closed on the occasions of Beh Dienkhlam, MHIP Day, Kang (Rathajatra), Drukpa Tshe-zi, Harela, Muharram/Ashoora/U Tirot Sing Day in July.
