Pop singer AJ McLean is letting go of the Westlake Village, Calif., home he’s owned since 2015.

The 5,330-square-foot Mediterranean mansion listed in January for $3.5 million is pending sale, according to Realtor.com.

News of the home sale comes on the heels of the founding member of the Backstreet Boys announcing earlier this year that he and his wife, Rochelle, are divorcing after 12 years of marriage.

In a post shared on Instagram, the couple stated: “It is with deep love and respect that we have made this decision. Our focus now is moving forward in the healthiest possible way with friendship and coparenting our girls at the forefront of this next chapter. We appreciate your kindness respect and privacy at this time.”

Despite what has surely been a challenging time, all signs point to a happy ending for the quick sale of McLean’s home.

“The home garnered a lot of attention and was snapped up after the first open house,” says listing agent Brenda Hayward, at Compass. “Buyers were overwhelmed by the open and luxurious primary suite.”

Renovated residence

The five-bedroom, 5.5-bath mansion underwent a large-scale renovation after it was damaged in the Woolsey fire, which caused devastation in Los Angeles and Ventura counties in November 2018.

“Unfortunately due to an excessive amount of ash that entered our home it’s been deemed unsafe to live in at this time until a full sweep of all furniture, clothing, wallpaper, and literally everything inside is cleaned and disinfected,” McLean shared on Facebook at the time.

Every surface throughout the home was cleaned, and the bathrooms were redone, Hayward says. “The kitchen and family room were also reconfigured to improve the flow.”

A grand foyer with a tall ceiling, spiral staircase, and dark wood floor sets the tone for the rest of the California casual interiors. The kitchen is outfitted with designer finishes, custom cabinetry, a spacious island with seating for five, and high-end appliances, including a Wolf range.

Upstairs, the aforementioned primary suite sits behind French doors and is an oasis all its own. It’s not difficult to see why buyers were dazzled by the massive walk-in closet and spa bathroom.

There are four more en suite bedrooms.

California living

The gated property is situated on a 0.7-acre lot near the middle of a cul-de-sac.

The private backyard features a patio and dining area, a pool with a hot tub, and mature palm trees.
