Barclays has announced the appointment of Gijs Borghouts as Chief Internal Auditor, and a standing attendee of the Group Executive Committee, subject to regulatory approval.
Gijs Borghouts is currently Chief Internal Auditor for Barclays Bank PLC (BBPLC). He joined the bank in 2021, having previously held senior Auditor roles at NatWest Group, ABN AMRO and Van der Valk Hotels.
He will succeed Lindsay O’Reilly, who has led the Internal Audit function since 2019.

Gijs Borghouts will assume the role from 1 May, subject to regulatory approval.
