Coinbase Business introduces global payouts and payment links, enabling businesses to send and receive USDC with low fees, instant settlement, and global reach.
These tools simplify vendor payments, eliminate chargebacks, and offer seamless API integrations, empowering businesses to scale efficiently.
Coinbase Business has added two powerful new features – global payouts and payment links – making Coinbase Business your all-in-one app for paying out and getting paid in digital dollars.
With the new global payouts feature, you can now send USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, to any onchain address or email address, enabling cheaper and more efficient cross-border payments with no gas fees for recipients on networks like Base. Payouts can be funded from on platform balances or a connected bank account.
Seamless contact management makes it easy to save vendor details, reducing the risk of errors and simplifying repeat payments. If your recipient doesn’t have a crypto wallet, they can receive the payment via email, create a Coinbase account for free to claim their funds, and easily cash out in their local market.
The accompanying Payouts API allows businesses to automate their payment workflows, triggering on-demand, batch, or scheduled payouts to vendors and contractors globally.
Collecting payments from customers is now low-fee, instant, and global. With payment links, businesses can now create a shareable link to request a specific amount in USDC. Customers can then use that link to pay in a seamless, gasless experience that accepts hundreds of wallets like the Base app, MetaMask, and Phantom.
Payments settle in under a second on Base with no network fees, no chargebacks and no more 3% fees for credit card swipes.
For developers, Coinbase’s upcoming Payment Links API enables the dynamic creation of payment links at scale, perfect for collecting payments inside an app or e-commerce flow.
How to get started
- Getting started is simple. Inside your Coinbase Business account, navigate to the new Payments tab.
- To pay out: Select “Pay” to send USDC to an email or crypto address. You can manage vendors and contacts for easy, repeatable payments.
- To get paid: Create a payment link, and share it via email, text, QR code, or by embedding a pre-formatted Buy button on your website.
The launch of these new features also marks the next phase for Coinbase’s merchant solutions. As part of this evolution, Coinbase will be unifying Coinbase Commerce with Coinbase Business in the coming months.
Coinbase Business will offer powerful and integrated solutions, which include full custody and cash-out capabilities that were not available in the standalone Commerce product. Coinbase will be in touch with existing Coinbase Commerce customers regarding next steps.
These new features on Coinbase Business are powered by Coinbase Crypto-as-a-Service (CaaS), Coinbase’s underlying crypto payments and trading infrastructure.
