ElevenLabs has announced the launch of its new Reader App, designed to transform any text content into high-quality audio on the go. This innovation aims to make text-based content more accessible and convenient for users, according to the ElevenLabs Blog.

Expanding Audio Content

The ElevenLabs Reader App enables users to listen to a wide range of text formats, including articles, PDFs, ePub files, newsletters, and more. Utilizing ElevenLabs’ advanced voice library, the app offers a variety of voices to match different content types, moods, and occasions.

User Feedback

Early beta testers have praised the app for its enunciation, tone, and fluidity. One user highlighted the app’s sophistication, noting its ability to maintain consistent tone and voice across lengthy texts. Another user, who is visually impaired, emphasized the app’s potential to revolutionize daily life by providing exceptional voice quality.

Why a Reader App?

ElevenLabs’ mission is to make content accessible in any language and voice. The company believes that creating top-tier AI audio models is only part of the solution; providing tools for creators and interfaces for consumers is equally important. The Reader App is a step towards fulfilling this mission.

Future Developments

The roadmap for the Reader App will be heavily influenced by user feedback. Some of the anticipated features include offline support, content sharing, and the addition of more languages. Currently, the app supports only English but plans to expand to all 29 languages supported by ElevenLabs’ Multilingual model.

Availability

The ElevenLabs Reader App is now available for iOS users in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. The app is free to download and free to use for the first three months. Users interested in the Android version can join the waitlist.
