Online broker eToro is introducing its latest innovation: the Onfido Selfie Motion biometric authentication feature.
The Onfido Selfie Motion feature aims to make updating your phone number easier.
In case you can’t log in due to 2FA sent to a phone number you no longer have access to, you’ll now have the option to undergo Onfido Selfie Motion, a self-service biometric authentication process.
How Does It Work?

When the verification code is sent, you’ll be given the option to change your phone number on the next screen.

Click on “Let’s start” to begin the process.

You’ll be redirected to a selfie matching procedure, where you’ll upload a Proof of Identity document containing a photo of yourself, with a selfie motion.

Once the biometric authentication successfully matches and passes eligibility checks, you’ll receive an email with a security code.

Enter the security code to proceed with changing your phone number.
After completing the process, you’ll be able to update your phone to the new one seamlessly.
Withdrawal requests will be limited for 7 days. However, you can still submit withdrawal requests, which will undergo manual review. If you prefer, you can still open a support ticket for assistance.
