FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Anca Ioana Ionescu, Head of Human Resources Europe at Retail FX and CFDs broker Doo Group, has left the company.

Anca Ioana Ionescu, who is one of the most experienced HR executives in the FX and CFDs sector, joined Doo Group in 2023 at a time when the Chinese-controlled broker was planning a major expansion in the EU, out of regional headquarters in Cyprus. Doo Group later received a CySEC license (for Doo Financial Cyprus Limited), and earlier this year moved into new expanded offices in Limassol.

Prior to her time with Doo Group, Anca was at Axi as a Talent Acquisition Specialist in Cyprus, and served as Head Of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition for Singapore based crypto exchange aggregator FINXFLO. She has also been Chief Human Resources Officer at Cyprus based Retail FX broker TTCM Traders Trust; Head Of Human Resources at NAGA; and Human Resources and Operations Manager at Orbex. Anca had also previously worked for EuropeFX and IronFX, where she was Global Operations Manager from 2011-2017.

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Singapore, Doo Group operates licensed subsidiaries in several locales including the USA, UK, Cyprus, Indonesia, Australia, and Hong Kong, as well as offshore entities in Labuan, Seychelles, Mauritius, and Vanuatu. Doo Group is controlled by Chinese national Junjie Chen.

Anca posted the following note today on social media regarding her departure from Doo Group.

As I wrap up my last week at Doo, I’m filled with gratitude and pride.

The outpouring of messages from colleagues has been incredibly moving, and it’s a reminder that the true value of leadership lies in the people you empower, not just the projects you complete.

When I started here, my mission was simple: build the department, nurture its growth, and create the space for future leaders to thrive. Over the course of my time, I had the privilege of creating two department heads who now hold the reins, developing a team that’s fully functional, and putting in place a framework that’s ready to scale.

The last impression is just as important as the first, and I made sure to leave not just a legacy of work, but a legacy of care. The tools I provided for scaling are in the hands of now capable leaders, and I have no doubt they’ll take the team even further.

In my personal philosophy, leadership is about empowering others to step into their potential and grow. My role was never to stay, but to set the foundation, ensure sustainability, and make way for others to flourish.

I leave this chapter knowing that the mission I set out on has been accomplished and I can’t wait to see how these leaders continue to shape the future of the department. 🥰
