FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime iSAM Securities executive Fred Gewirtz has joined Retail FX and CFDs broker Scandinavian Capital Markets, as the company’s new Head of Institutional Liquidity.
Fred Gewirtz was part of the original Grand Rapids, Michigan based executive group that made up ThinkLiquidity, the one-time B2B services arm (liquidity and risk management) of Retail FX and CFDs broker ThinkMarkets. ThinkLiquidity was acquired in 2017 by London based wealth management outfit iSAM, which renamed the unit iS Risk Analytics, and more recently iSAM Securities. (Last year iSAM and ThinkMarkets settled following several years of contentious litigation stemming from the acquisition).
Fred Gewirtz had been with the group for 10 years, joining ThinkLiquidity in 2014 as Head Of Business Development. Following the sale to iSAM he became Head of Sales for iS Risk Analytics.
Scandinavian Capital Markets was founded and is run by Stockholm based Arif Ahmad and Toronto based Michael Buchbinder. The broker is formally domiciled in Sweden and licensed by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority, Finansinspektionen, as a Registered Financial Institution. Scandinavian, an STP broker, focuses on institutional traders, introducing brokers, money managers, and professional traders.
