FNG Exclusive… With the issue of cyber security – and specifically the security of client information at financial institutions – becoming ever more important, FNG has learned that leading US neobroker Robinhood (NASDAQ:HOOD) has gone outside the organization to hire a new CISO (Chief Information Security Officer) for its brokerage operation, in the person of David Schwed.

David Schwed joins Robinhood after serving for the past two years as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of blockchain cybersecurity company Halborn. He previously worked as Global Head of Digital Assets Technology at US banking firm BNY Mellon, responsible for developing and implementing BNY Mellon’s information technology strategy for their digital asset offerings across the enterprise.

David also acts as an early stage investor in and advisor to a number of cybersecurity and blockchain technology based companies, and as an Expert Witness in areas such as Computer Forensics, Cybersecurity, and Cryptocurrency. His prior work experience includes RTI Cable, Galaxy Digital, MASS Communications (acquired by Windstream Enterprise), Citi, Marsh & McLennan, and Merrill Lynch.
