The UK Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has dedicated a designated page to the Argentex case.

As FX News Group reported on Monday, Argentex LLP was placed into special administration on July 21, 2025. This happened shortly after the firm ceased all commercial and trading activity.

FSCS explains that its protection only applies to certain types of activity. This does not include electronic money and payment services.

FSCS protection may exist for eligible customers in relation to client money a firm holds as part of its wealth management services. FSCS is working with the Joint special administrators (JSAs) to determine whether the Argentex customers who have client money with Argentex in connection with its wealth management services are eligible for this protection.

FSCS will not be open to customer claims right now, but it will be investigating whether any claims are possible and how best to deal with these. As part of this investigation, FSCS will be working closely with the JSAs and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
