Gujarat secured the third position with Rs. 12,095 crore, while Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh collected Rs. 11,795 crore and Rs. 9,956 crore, respectively. These states continue to be the economic powerhouses, contributing significantly to the nation’s GST revenue. On the other hand, some Union Territories and smaller states had the lowest GST collections. Lakshadweep reported the lowest revenue at Rs. 3 crore, followed by Andaman and Nicobar Islands with Rs. 51 crore. Mizoram and Ladakh recorded Rs. 46 crore and Rs. 48 crore, respectively, while Nagaland collected Rs. 85 crore. These regions, with smaller industrial and commercial bases, naturally see lower GST revenues compared to larger states.

Sharing their views on the GST collections for the final month of FY25, Abhishek Jain, Indirect Tax Head & Partner, KPMG said, “A nearly 10% growth in collections compared to last year reflects economic stability and strong tax compliance by companies. With fiscal year-end adjustments and reconciliations underway, we can expect a further surge in month-on-month growth in the next set of collection”
