Banks across India would be closed for about 14 days in the first month of the new financial year, April 2024, national and region specific. This includes the weekend holidays, i.e., the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays.
The first month of the new financial year will have 14 bank holidays. Banks across India will observe festivities like Gudhi Padwa, Id-Ul-Fitr, Bohag Bihu, Ram Navami, Baisakhi and much more!
The RBI had issued the list of holidays for 2024 in its annual list. According to this, all public and private sector banks across India will remain closed for up to 14 days in April, 2024, including the weekend leaves. However, we must note that the banks will not be closed for 14 days in all states or regions.
Internet banking services will continue to be operational during these days. ATM service will also be available. Some of the holidays in the list are specific to certain states only or regional holidays while few are designated as public holidays.

April 1 : To enable to Banks to close their yearly accounts
April 5 : Babu Jagjivan Ram’s Birthday/Jumat-ul-Vida
April 9 : Gudhi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/Telugu New Year’s Day/Sajibu Nongmapanba (Cheiraoba)/1st Navratra
April 10 : Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr)
April 11 : Ramzan-Id (Id-Ul-Fitr) (1st Shawaal)
April 13 : Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival
April 15 : Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day
April 17 : Shree Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain)
April 20 : Garia Puja
Apart from this list, as per the Holiday Under Negotiable Instruments Act, the banks will also remain closed on some of the days of the weekends. These are mentioned below:

April 13 : Second Saturday (Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju Festival)
April 14 : Sunday
April 21 : Sunday
April 27 : Fourth Saturday
