Scope Prime, the offshore Belize domiciled liquidity brand of Rostro Financial Group, has announced the appointment of Kea Nonyana as Head of Scope Prime’s Africa division. The company said that this is the latest appointment of a regional head by the business, with Kea set to augment the global coverage already provided by Andrew Taylor in Australia and Miranti Rostian in South East Asia.
Kea Nonyana joins Scope Prime after serving for the past two years as Head of Global Markets and Structured Products at South African broker EA Capital. He had previously also worked at ThinkMarkets and at IG Group in South Africa.
Kea will continue to be based in Johannesburg, with his remit set to cover the African continent. Sister brand under Rostro, Scope Markets already has a significant presence in both Kenya and South Africa, delivering a range of trading and investing services to a retail audience.
Lochlan White, Chief Commercial Officer of Scope Prime commented:
“As a business we are going through a steady phase of global expansion, delivering our multi-asset liquidity and prime services to a greater number of counterparties. A key component of this is enhancing our global footprint. We already have strong relationships across much of Africa, so Kea’s appointment complements our vision for growth in the region perfectly.”
Working in research, analysis and derivative sales roles for a number of banks and brokerages in Johannesburg over the last decade, Kea has extensive technical expertise and a comprehensive regional network of contacts.
Daniel Lawrance, CEO of Scope Prime, added:
“We have seen significant growth of our institutional business in 2024, with counterparties eager to tap into our extensive lines of liquidity as well as benefit from decades of market knowledge and our cutting-edge technology. We are very excited to promote these benefits to an even wider audience, and Kea will be a pivotal part of our plan for the New Year.”
Kea Nonyana, Head of Africa at Scope Prime, concluded:
“Africa is experiencing remarkable financial product innovation right now and Scope Prime is superbly positioned to service this growing demand. I’m certainly delighted to have joined the Scope Prime team and look forward to helping build the company’s presence both in South Africa and further afield.”
