Two months after closing the acquisition of retail futures trading provider NinjaTrader, crypto exchange operator Kraken has announced the launch of Kraken Derivatives US, a regulated U.S. derivatives offering. The launch will provide direct access to crypto futures listed on the CME through Kraken’s integrated Kraken Pro trading experience.
The debut of Kraken Derivatives US follows its acquisition of NinjaTrader, as noted above. Later this year, Kraken plans to expand its offering to include commodity, fixed income, FX and equity futures, further solidifying its position as a unified venue for digital and traditional asset-classes.
In Europe Kraken has already launched regulated derivatives trading including CFDs, via Cyprus based, CySEC licensed subsidiary Payward Europe Digital Solutions (CY) Limited, acquired earlier this year.
Kraken Derivatives US enables clients to trade a full suite of crypto futures alongside our extensive spot market offering, and instant funding enables the seamless transfer of collateral. This integration gives clients a unified interface to deploy advanced strategies and manage risk efficiently, all from within a regulated environment backed by our industry-leading infrastructure.
“With this launch, Kraken clients in the U.S. can now trade futures alongside one of the world’s most liquid cryptocurrency spot markets,” said Shannon Kurtas, Head of Exchange at Kraken. “It’s a meaningful step in giving traders broad market access and increased capital efficiency within a regulated and high-performance environment.”
The company added that today’s launch marks a major milestone in Kraken’s broader vision to build a comprehensive multi-asset trading platform. In April, Kraken introduced commission-free equities trading in the U.S., offering access to more than 11,000 stocks and ETFs with round-the-clock availability. It also recently announced a tokenized equities offering.
Kurtas continued,
“Kraken Derivatives US further enriches our unified trading experience, where digital and traditional assets can be accessed side by side without compromising on features, performance or liquidity.”
