Leverate, a global leader in technology solutions for brokers and prop trading firms, has announced that it has launched version 7.2, introducing a major control upgrade for prop firms: Manual Control Over Step Approvals. This new feature enables firms to manually verify each challenge step, adding an extra layer of oversight and risk protection to their onboarding process.

The Problem: Risk Blind Spots in Auto-Approval Flows

Until now, most prop challenge steps, such as progressing from audition to funded accounts, were automatically approved once the trader met the documented criteria. While efficient, this automation limited the ability of firms to assess trading behavior, strategies, or suspicious patterns before granting access to funded capital.

The Solution: Full Manual Approval, Step by Step

With v7.2, prop firms can now choose how each challenge step is handled:

  • Auto-Approved (default) – The step is activated automatically when the conditions are met.
  • Manually Approved – The step remains “Pending” until reviewed and approved via CRM.

This setting is fully configurable in the Plan Steps section in the Broker Portal, and no migration is required; existing plans remain auto-approved unless changed.

On the trader side, status transparency is built-in: When manual approval is activated, traders will see a clear “Pending Approval” label directly in the Prop Dashboard, helping set expectations and reducing unnecessary support tickets. Once approved, the next step unlocks automatically, creating a seamless continuation of the challenge journey.

This balances broker-side control with trader-side visibility,  ensuring both risk management and user experience are elevated.

Why It Matters

This feature is designed to help prop firms protect capital, verify strategy consistency, and ensure only qualified traders progress to sensitive phases like funded accounts. Manual control allows for detailed review of:

  • Trading style and risk appetite
  • Suspicious trading behaviors
  • Technical rule compliance
  • Challenge integrity

As the industry evolves, risk transparency becomes a key differentiator. Leverate’s manual step approval gives firms the tools to scale safely while maintaining the agility of digital challenges.

Idan Stambulchik Leverate newsletter“This is a simple but powerful change. It puts risk control where it belongs: in the hands of the firm,” said Idan Stambulchik, Head of Product at Leverate. “It’s another step toward giving our partners the operational flexibility they need to thrive globally.”

Strengthening a Complete Risk Management Ecosystem

Leverate views risk management as a core pillar of prop firm growth, not just a compliance requirement, but a strategic advantage. With the introduction of Manual Step Approval, they continue to expand an already robust toolkit that empowers firms to mitigate exposure, evaluate trading behavior, and protect capital across every stage.

Leverate’s risk suite already includes, but not limited to:

  • LXRisk – a centralized platform offering real-time risk monitoring and exposure controls for brokers
  • Prop Conditions – configurable limits for Max Daily Loss and Overall Loss, ensuring disciplined trading behavior
  • Max Daily Profit – a unique feature offered by only one other provider, giving firms the ability to cap profits and prevent over-leveraging
  • Auto-Approval Settings – offering flexibility for firms who prefer a hands-off challenge flow

By combining these with the new Manual Step Approval, Leverate provides firms with both automated precision and manual oversight, ensuring they can operate confidently and scale, without compromising on risk.
