Following the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) directives, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has delisted Paytm from its approved Fastag providers.
Despite the RBI extending the deadline for Paytm Payments Bank from February 29 to March 15, it has emphasized in its FAQ that Fastags are not interchangeable.
Customers are advised to close their Fastag accounts issued by PPBL and apply for a refund. They will then need to acquire a new Fastag from another bank.
NHAI’s authorised Fastag provider list currently includes 32 banks and the Indian Highways Management Company (IHMCL) recommends users to purchase Fastags exclusively from banks included in the updated list.
