London Metal Exchange (LME) confirms that Mr Marco Strimer has been made a Category 7 (Honorary) Member of the LME, in recognition of his service to the LME Group.
His career spans across 40 years, specialising in the financial industry with a focus on clearing and operations.
Marco Strimer was previously Head of Global Operations in leading banks in Switzerland and abroad. Prior to this, Marco was CEO of SIX x-clear, a recognised overseas clearing house in the United Kingdom belonging to SIX Group. At the same time, he was a member of the Executive Board of the Securities Services Division of SIX Group.
He joined LME Clear Limited in December 2013 as a director of the Board, and helped oversee the design and launch of LME Clear in 2014, and its subsequent development. Marco was appointed as Chair of the LME Clear Limited Board in November 2020, in which post he remained until his appointment term as Chair ended on 20 July 2023. He remained as a director until 31 December 2023.
