The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) announces the appointment of Shri Goverdhan S. Rawat and Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood as its Deputy Managing Directors.
Goverdhan S Rawat, has a distinguished record of over three decades of experience within the organisation. Rawat assumed his role following a successful tenure as Chief General Manager at Pune, Maharashtra Regional Office, NABARD said in a press note.
He has expertise in project appraisal, infrastructure financing, rural development, district credit planning, consulting services, board secretariats, and human resources. He is an MBA in Leadership and Strategy and has a Graduate degree in Agriculture & Animal Husbandry from Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Banking (CAIIB) and has a post graduate diploma in banking and finance as well.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood has had a successful tenure as Chief General Manager of NABARD, Himachal Pradesh Regional Office in Shimla.
He has a background in agriculture from Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi.
Sood focuses on rural infrastructure development, playing a pivotal role in implementing funds such as RIDF, Micro Irrigation Fund, and Warehouse Infrastructure Fund.
The additions of Shri Rawat and Dr. Sood to the leadership team would bring “valuable experience and expertise to further strengthen NABARD’s commitment to promoting inclusive rural development and agricultural financing,” the Bank said in the press release.
