The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has asked Paytm FASTag users to procure a new FASTag issued by another bank before March 15, 2024.
This would ensure a seamless travel experience and help in avoiding any penalties or additional charges on the National Highways.

“In line with the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India regarding restrictions on Paytm Payments Bank, the Paytm FASTags users will not be able to recharge or top-up the balance post 15th March 2024. However, they can use their existing balance to pay toll beyond the stipulated date,” NHAI said in a statement on Wednesday.
It also added that users can reach out to their respective banks or refer to the FAQs provided on the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL) website in case of further queries or assistance related to Paytm FASTags.
NHAI has urged all Paytm FASTag users to take proactive measures to ensure a seamless travel experience on the National Highways across the country.

The Reserve Bank of India imposed restrictions on Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) on January 31, following a system audit report and subsequent compliance validation report of external auditors.
In March 2022, the apex bank had directed Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) to stop onboarding of new customers.
