The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday announced a launch of its verified WhatsApp channel under the ongoing public awareness initiative, ‘RBI Kehta Hai’.
Aiming important financial information more accessible to citizens, especially in remote areas, through a platform widely used by the public.
The RBI’s official WhatsApp account, verified and named ‘Reserve Bank of India’, will serve as a direct communication tool to share reliable updates and messages related to financial literacy, consumer protection, and digital safety.
“This initiative will ensure that vital information reaches people in a simple, direct, and effective manner, strengthening trust and resilience in our digital financial ecosystem,” the central bank said in its press release issued on April 4, 2025.
The central bank has been running awareness campaigns via SMS, television, and digital ads. Users can join the channel by scanning a QR code shared in the release.
