FX and digital assets tech and liquidity solutions provider Spotex LLC has announced the appointment of Leo Hmelnitsky as Chief Strategy Officer, Digital Assets.
In his new role, Leo will be based in San Francisco reporting to Spotex CEO, John Miesner.
Leo Hmelnitsky brings over 20 years of experience in Equities, Foreign Exchange & Digital Assets, including leadership roles at major investment banks. Leo also serves as a Senior Advisor to Finery Markets since 2021 where he successfully implemented cutting edge digital asset strategies and transformative growth initiatives. Leo’s expertise in blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance (DeFi) will play a critical role in shaping Spotex’s strategic direction in this rapidly expanding asset class.
Previously, Leo held positions at Mellon Capital Management, AXA Rosenberg, Schwab Capital Markets, and Goldman Sachs.

In his new role, Leo will oversee Spotex’s digital assets strategy, working closely with teams across the organization to drive innovation, enhance customer experience, and unlock new revenue opportunities. This includes spearheading initiatives around blockchain technology, digital currencies and more.
