The Government of Maharashtra has published its list of public holidays for the year 2024 via a notification dated November 9, 2023.
In India, public and bank holidays differ depending on the state and the region’s major festivals. Say for example, Maharashtra observes a public and bank holiday on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti and other states will not.
Central government holiday list 2024
According to the notification, “In exercise of the powers of Central Government under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (XXVI of 1881) entrusted to it by the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs vide its Notification No.39/I/68/JUDI-III, dated the 8th May, 1968, the Government of Maharashtra hereby declares the following days as Public Holidays in the State of Maharashtra during the calendar year 2024.”
