Discover the top projects in the Sui ecosystem for 2024, showcasing diverse DeFi and infrastructure innovations, driven by user engagement and community votes.

The Sui blockchain ecosystem has unveiled its most popular projects for 2024, as determined by a combination of performance metrics and community voting, according to Sui Foundation. These projects span a wide array of infrastructure and decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, reflecting the diversity and innovation within the Sui network.

Growth and Innovation on Sui

Since the launch of the Sui Mainnet in 2023, the blockchain has experienced significant growth, attracting a record number of users to its platform. This influx has been driven by the success of various DeFi protocols, media services, NFT markets, and gaming applications. Many of the standout projects either launched with the Mainnet or gained viral popularity in 2024.

Key Projects in the Sui Ecosystem

Highlighted projects include Walrus, a decentralized storage platform, and the Sui Name Service, which simplifies blockchain addresses into human-readable handles. DeepBook, Sui’s first native liquidity layer, supports the DeFi ecosystem by facilitating market and limit order swaps. Other notable projects such as Cetus, Suilend, and NAVI have also made significant contributions to the ecosystem, offering various DeFi services including lending, staking, and liquidity provision.

Community and Metrics-Driven Selection

The selection process for the top projects involved compiling a list of 30 projects based on active user accounts and activity levels. Subsequently, Sui ambassadors and community members participated in a poll via Discord to rank these projects. This approach ensured that both quantitative metrics and community sentiment were considered in the final ranking.

Top Projects by Active Accounts

In addition to community voting, the top 10 projects were also evaluated based on active account metrics. This metric closely aligned with transaction volumes, providing a comprehensive view of user engagement across the network. Projects like Wave Wallet, which combines wallet functionality with gaming, and FanTV, a video platform challenging traditional media services, stood out for their innovative use of the Sui blockchain.

Future Prospects for Sui

As Sui concludes its first full year, the blockchain continues to attract interest in foundational services and DeFi protocols. GameFi projects, in particular, have captured user attention, suggesting a promising future for new gaming applications. The Sui community eagerly anticipates further innovation and project launches in the upcoming year, leveraging the blockchain’s scalability and performance.
