Holi 2024 bank holiday in March 2024: In March 2024, banks are closed for 14 days across states, as per the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday list. With Holi falling on a Monday, there will be an extended break for states.

According to the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday list, March 2024 sees banks closed for a total of 14 days. This includes various occasions such as Chapchar Kut, Sivarathri, Bihar Diwas, and days dedicated to Holi celebrations.
Holi, falling on a Monday, ushers in an extended weekend for many states. With Sunday preceding it and the fourth Saturday of the month, it means a three-day stretch of holiday observance for bank employees.
The states where banks will be closed for this extended weekend include Tripura, Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Telangana, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
Other notable bank holidays in March
Aside from Holi festivities, other significant bank holidays in March include:
- March 26, marked as Yaosang 2nd Day/Holi, observed in Orissa, Manipur, and Bihar.
- March 27 is another day of closure, dedicated solely to Holi in Bihar.
- And finally, March 29, when banks will be closed in most states except Tripura, Assam, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Srinagar.
